How can I change the size and font of my text on gimp 2.6?

Whenever I try to add text on my Gimp 2.6 project, it comes out really small. How can I change the size and font?How can I change the size and font of my text on gimp 2.6?
The Text tool places text into an image. When you click on an image with this tool the Text Editor dialog is opened where you can type your text, and a text layer is added in the Layer Dialog. In the Text Option dialog, (located on lower half portion of tool box-leftside ) ,you can change the font, color and size of your text, and justify it.
